Customer Reviews about Fayetteville Animal Shelter:

  • The Fayetteville Animal Shelter is great! They work hard to offer a good variety of adoptable pets to the community and also take care of those animals that are unfortunately 'dropped off' and needing a home. They also take pride in ensuring that all animals are spayed/neutered, or include a certificate if being adopted.

  • We adopted a puppy from the Lincoln County Animal Shelter one week ago and this little one is amazing. We can tell that she received the best quality of care there. She had to have been played with, worked with and she must have been given an immeasurable amount of love. She fit nicely into our home!

  • I most give kudos to Denise and her staff for addressing all my questions regarding the Pitbull we adopted. They were very knowledgeable about the breed and the dogs behavior. Our community is blessed to have people with a true desire to keep animals safe and healthy!

This shelter was opened because of the dire need. While, yes, there were a lot of animals put down at this shelter, at least they were not being dumped by the highways any where near as often. Then the woman who ran the shelter was accused of some iffy legalities opening the shelter wide to be sued and shut down. This affair was never addressed sufficiently and was just locked away. Now they have gone to a no kill shelter, which is a wonderful thought, but not at all practical in a town/county/state where animals are possessions and the laws do not protect them. Animals are once again being dumped on the road ways at an enormous pace and there is no where to take them, so people no longer pick them up. They have abandoned 10's of 1000's to help a very few. this is NOT what we voted for when we agreed to open a shelter with our tax dollars and 1000's in donations. I can't help but feel this was to cover up the wrong doing of an employee.

  • They were wonderful! Very helpful on the phone and after I paid for my adoption they held my girl until the next day. I was 10 minutes late getting there but they we still cheerful and helpful. We brought our girl home last night and she is already such a blessing! Thanks so much for working with us so that we have this amazing puppy, Patrick and Lynda O'Driscoll
